Welcome Naturalists!

Hi everyone and welcome to the project! This project is to get an idea of the biodiversity in our canyons
PLEASE ID INVASIVE SPECIES!!! We hope to use this information in the future for habitat restoration!

My name is Daniel and I have been wilderness ranger with the U.S Forest Service for the past 2 years. I have a deep love for the place for the place where I grew up which is here in Chula Vista. Now that I live back here in Chula Vista I am hoping to get a nice database of the plants in our beautiful canyons!

Lets get some community going and leave a comment!

Hello Daniel. Thank you for creating this project. I hope you find this communities' observations useful for future restoration projects. I have been heading down to a few of the canyons these past few weeks and have seen lots of animal activity as well as blooms. With that, there are a lot of invasives starting to take over on and near the most transited hiking routes. There's also a considerable amount of poison oak along the trails on H Street & Paseo del Rey. I hope to report back in the days to come with more updates. Thanks again!
