Mower's Mushroom

Most commonly known as the "lawnmower's mushroom" and less commonly known as Panaeolus foenisecii, this mushroom is prevalent in most North American lawns, but can also appear in the southeastern states. It can be easily identified by its small size in the grass and the colour of its spore print. which is a purplish brown. It mostly grows in grassy areas like lawns or meadows, and the colour of its cap can change drastically if it loses too much moisture. Its size is relatively small with its cap being only 1-3.5cm and its stem being 6-10cm and 1.5-3mm thick. It does not have a distinctive odour or taste, and is recommended not to be ingested because it can cause illness.
