Celebrate International Day of Biological Diversity!

May 22 is International Day of Biological Diversity! Please join us in exploring the Georgian Bay Biosphere region and all the amazing species within it!

Between Friday, May 21st and Sunday, May 23rd see how many different species you can find! Join the GBB iNaturalist community and discover what species of plants, birds, mammals, etc. are in your own backyard!

Participation is easy:

1) Create an iNaturalist Account (www.inaturalist.ca)
2) Join the Georgian Bay Biosphere iNaturalist Project (https://inaturalist.ca/projects/georgian-bay-biosphere)
3) Submit your photos or sound clips of as many different species (plants, moss, fungi, birds, mammals, etc!) as you can between May 21st and 23rd.

Remember:
1) All observations must be within our Biosphere Boundary (map on our project page)
2) You must select Georgian Bay Biosphere under the project tab for each observation

The goal is to celebrate BIODIVERSITY! So the person who submits the most observations of different kinds of species to iNaturalist will win a $50 Gift Voucher for GBB's Native Plant Fundraiser (https://www.gbbr.ca/native-plant-fundraiser/)! The winner will be announced Monday, May 24th.

Not only is making observations fun but it helps us understand local species, where they live, potential threats and how we can help!

Have fun celebrating International Day of Biological Diversity by getting out and exploring your Biosphere!
