@stevejones In Flora of China, at least, there is is no A. indicum var guineense just A. guineense... so perhaps the original application of this variety in iNaturalist was a mistake?
I just looked through the 13 or so applications of A. indicum var guineense from Taiwan, and it looks like some of them are just Abutilon indicum so I went ahead and annotated those. The others do appear to be A. guieense (at least as I understand the taxon), so I left those alone since you are doing the taxon swap and several are research grade. I hope this helps. I'd be happy to keep working on this.
@stevejones @danielmcnair
I agree with this taxonomic swap.
Here is a master's thesis about the taxonomy of subtribe Abutilinae in Taiwan (unfortunately, no online full text is available... just read the abstract).

The author also supports the independent species of A. guineense.
Hence, I have no objection to this swap.
@galanhsnu, does this taxon swap make sense? Is Abutilon guineense/A. indicum guineense known from Taiwan?
@danielmcnair how does this look to you?
