Growing on senescent stems of Auriscalpium vulgare. Fruiting bodies white (10YR 8/2 in Munsell); 3.0 to 5.0 mm tall and 0.3 wide. Basidiocarps with a distinct “head” and stem. Heads 2.9 to 3.0 mm tall. Stems hairy. All structures inamyloid. Monomitic with clamps. Lamellar cystidia absent. Basidia clavate, 1-sterigmate to 4-sterigmate and basally clamped. Basidia measurements: (12.4) 14.4 – 19.3 (20.6) × (4) 4.2 – 5.2 (5.7) µm, Q = (2.9) 3.1 – 4.4 (4.6); N = 30, Me = 16.9 × 4.6 µm; Qe = 3.7 Spores hyaline and smooth. Growing on hardwood leaf fragments near Acer sp., Cercis canadensis, Liquidambar styraciflua, Lonicera sp. Basidiocarps white, flexuose with slightly inflated heads and 0.5 to 2.3 mm tal and 0.1 mm to 0.2 mm wide at the widest. Growing caespitose from light brown sclerotia. Rhomboid crystals abundant in the hymenium. Clamps absent in the stipe trama. Lamellar cystidia absent. Basidia clavate. Failed to locate mature basidia. Growing on unknown herbaceous plant stems in a Sphagnum bog. Basidiocarps spiny and white; with distinct heads; up to 1.2 mm tall and 0.5 mm wide. Monomitic with simple-septate generative hyphae. Large, thick-walled cystidia present on all surfaces. Basidia 2-sterigmate. Spores hyaline, inamyloid, smooth, and thin-walled. Spore measurements: (7.4) 9.6 – 11.6 (12.6) × (6.7) 8 – 9.7 (10.5) µm; Q = (1) 1.1 – 1.3 (1.4); N = 30; Me = 10.5 × 8.8 µm; Qe = 1.2

Smells like rotten cabbage
