Two Brahminy Kites flew in from elsewhere in the lake. They stopped together in a tree near the Eraring power station outlet creek.

They began circling together over the field/property below them. When they flew over another tree nearby a magpie flew up and chased them. The magpie and kites loudly screeched at one another and the kites were chased off.

They circled around away from the tree for a minute before coming back. They flew over the tree with the magpie nest a few times and every time they did the magpie would chase them. It didn't chase if they didn't fly straight over.

At times when the magpie wasn't chasing the kites seemed to still be looking around for it constantly.

They flew separately but in the same area for a while and joined up together a few times.

They definitely seemed to be a pair and could tell the difference between them as one had a primary feather missing which left a noticeable gap in its wing tip.

See the Brahminy Kites very often at Eraring as many water birds and fish-eating birds of prey gather at the outlet creek as it is hot water and attracts lots of fish.
