Observing with iNaturalist as a way to record what I find is really fun. If you wear nature oriented jewelry I may have met you at my craft booth displaying my Wild Bryde Jewelry. I like to celebrate nature and this is what drove my interest in metal arts. My biology education was at SFSU in the late 70s. My art education was at CCAC where I graduated with a degree in Illustration.

I do late night observations and enjoy finding the animals and plants that live watershed I live in.

I have been living near the Sobrante Ridge Region Preserve for twenty years. Before that, I lived near Wildcat Canyon Regional Park, Richmond CA. My teenage years, when I first started ID'ing, were on Kings Mountain, near Half Moon Bay CA. Purissima Canyon and Whittemore Gulch and Bald Knob on one side and the big SF watershed, above Filoli on the other side of the ridge. For 17 years I also had a home in the Sierra which I really miss.

We have dogs. They are named after trees and birds. Hickory, Juniper and Puffin and Willy. We walk them everyday and take them with us everywhere we go. They keep us active and on our toes. Therefore, the areas we visit allow dogs. Luckily, we enjoy a circle of EBRPD Parks around where we live. We walk our dogs into the late evening and we also do late night walks. I also like cross country exploring and getting to know the back forty.

My wife, Joanna, @wildcatdogs, is a contributor to iNaturalist. She loves native plants and planning trips to see wildflowers. She loves taking photos with colorful wildflowers and happy dogs in the same shot! So our four dogs know the portraiture drill and know the sound of the shutter and enjoy the treats given for a perfect pose. I'm the water carrier and leash tender and dog manager assistant.
