Most of my knowledge about plants comes from gardening, and a love of wildflowers and wild berries. Lately I've been trying to learn more of the actual botany and to ID the wild plants in my area. I've spent quite a lot of time looking at plants and I'm generally confident about IDs once I'm familiar with a plant, but it's nice to be getting the details and terms to explain why I know a plant is what it is. Most of the plants I report here are ones I want to ID, so of course I'm not as confident of the distinctions.
